Finally had some time to watch TV, so I started to watch a series that I uploaded to my Synology DS214play some weeks ago. First 6 episodes went smooth, playing the 7th episodes took me to the madness of understanding how to setup Plex.
First issue: transcoding took ages. Stange, because i checked all the files and all are equivalent in terms of codecs. All are MKVs H264 with same resultion (1920x1080 HD) and same audio (AC3 a52). I tried to buy a plex pass (monthly, just to test) but should have checked before that my DS214play doesn’t support hardware transcoding. Seems strange that first 6 episodes didn’t show an issue and only the 7th bothered. However, as for now I can’t avoid this anomaly,
Second issue: i decided to end watching the show on my pc with plex, no way it says it cannot transcode. Ok, I know. So I decided to watch it LAN with VLC, not a single problem. However, i decided to give Plex another possibility and it probably get annoyed by my VLC experience since now I get the error “File associated with item not accessible”. I check multiple posts, so far I confirmed the permits on the folder / files in my NAS, manually rescanned the library. No way, still got the error. Any other media on the server can be played, just those episodes from 7th up cannot be played and seems to be even unaccessible.
Where could I look for a solution before dumping plex?
