Transcoding causes media not to play after windows reinstall

Server Version#: 1.40.1.8227-c0dd5a73e (Windows 11 Pro)
Player Version#: Freebox Pop Android

Hey everyone!

I’ve reinstalled windows on my home server but since the reinstall, nothing’s working on plex anymore.
Since the new install, using android tv clients will always force transcoding but for some reasons, that was never the case before, it was always direct playing. (Local clients)

I’ve tried tweaking settings in windows, bios etc, nothing’s working and I can’t figure out the reason.
Logs are different everytime, some files will work when disabling subtitles, some will just go through an error and just not play at all.
I’m transcoding from the iGPU of an i9-10900k when needed, but then again, even when transcoding was needed before, it just worked.

All my drivers are up to date, plexpass is up, Intel graphics are chosen to do the transcoding but i’m not sure it actually is the issue.

Sometimes i’ll get errors like “Direct Play is disabled” followed by “no direct play video profile exists for http/mkv/hevc/truehd”

or i’ll also get: “media must be transcoded in order to use the hls protocol” and “selected subtitle cannot be converted to a compatible format, burning into video stream”

Subtitles are SRT and i’m not forcing them in the server settings.
If anyone has any idea about how I could fix the situation that’d be awesome!

Thanks to everyone taking the time to read and maybe try helping !

Look at “Now Playing” in the dashboard of the web app, while playing such a video.

Enable the detail display mode.
What does it say about the connection? Is it local, remote, or indirect?

It should say “local”. If it’s not local, you should verify that the network connection in Windows (on your server machine) is not classified as “public”.

Thanks for your answer! It is saying local, it’s buffering a lot so playing it is not the solution.
