Hopefully I"m in the right place. I’m using the “Plexinc” docker on my unraid server running 6.3.5. Currently on latest version of plexpass PMS. This problem has been going on for about a year now. Roughly once a month, I notice that a number of my videos will not play at all if transcoding is required. From what I can tell this is happening with VC1 and HEVC videos. I’ve learned that if I delete everything in the “codecs” folder and allow Plex to redownload the codecs, videos work again. This has become pretty frustating. Please let me know what other information I can provide.
deleting the “codecs” folder fix my playback issue thx for the tip
Any solution to this?

This helped me possibly fix a recent problem!! THX for the tip!
BUMP. I cant believe No one has responded. I have this exact issue and constantly have to delete my codecs folder as well. This is clearly a common issue. What is happening? It seems to be after every update.
Hi there !
Friendly bump !
I’m still having the issue on a debian machine with latest Docker and Plex (PlexPass vesion).
I wil have to make a script with a button my users can click to kill the codecs folder and restart the Plex container…
Any fixes for this? I am on RHEL and I have to nuke my codex directories at least once a week.
