Transcoding Failure - CUDA_ERROR_INVALID_VALUE: invalid argument

Thanks but still no dice. I have changed it in the past from /dev/dri/renderD128 to /dev/dri/renderD129 when HW transcoding wasn’t working and that seemed to fix the issue for a few weeks until it broke again.

I did also try 1.29.2.6364-6d72b0cf6 a few weeks back which also fixed my issue until this new release. Unfortunately rolling back to that version didn’t solve the issue.

If bouncing versions doesn’t fix the issue then the root cause isn’t Plex.

Something else has happened there.

You might want to remove ALL the nvidia packages, rebuild the initramfs, reboot
then install the default nvidia-drivers package for your machine and let them come in clean. (this is how we test)

Yes, I am running an ubuntu vm on proxmox. Plex is running in a docker container inside this vm. Updated drivers and tried again with the same error. I let it try to play a while, stopped play back and download the logs again

HUH?

Proxmox → Ubuntu VM → Docker container?

ARE YOU MAD?

Run the native Plex app in the VM. Docker is adding another layer of crap you don’t need.

  1. Proxmox + docker
    -or-
  2. Proxmox + VM

Not both!

Have you seen this???

PS: If I could get proxmox to boot on my BabyNUC, I’d help with How-To’s. but it won’t detect the USB boot. It detects UNRAID just fine so not BIOS

Thank you, that seems to have worked now. Ended up resintalling all the drivers and transcoding works fine on 1.31.2.6783
