Transcoding problem with the new update

I am having problems with the new update transcoding my videos has anybody else had the same issue. The video keeps on stopping and going.

Update to server or one of the players?

To Synology server.

Would probably need server logs to ask devs what may be going on. Will probably need logs from whichever app you are using to playback too.

Still looking into this but seems to be an issue with dolby audio codecs.

Can you please enable debug logging on your server. reprodice the issue from trying to play on your Samsung device then grab the server logs again and the android logs from your samsung device

Yes, I will try but a question have you guys ever tried to make transcoding work on the AMD processors I don’t know why, but everybody has switched to AMD processors on home servers. Maybe they’re cheaper to buy.

CPU (software) based transcoding works with AMD processors.

Hardware transcoding does not, as the AMD CPUs used by Synology have no GPU.

You should be able to transcode most 1080p media, unless subtitle burning is required.

Transcoding 4K will fail, as the CPU is not strong enough to do so in real time.

Attempts to transcode 4K video will result in buffering. The same may happen when burning subtitles into 1080p media.

Recreate the problem and attach the log files as @BigWheel requests. That will show what is happening.

I think I fixed the issue. I changed in the transcoding settings, instead of having it auto I changed it to the GPU I hope this will fix the issue. Thanks anyway.

What are the errors? I just rolled through a bunch of fixes with my server so I might be able to help

Sorry for the late response. I’ve tested it now. Extensively on all my devices. I’ve converted my HDR movies to much smaller file sizes so I can play them directly from 60 GB to 15 GB everything is working great on Apple TV in my phone Samsung Galaxy S23 three the only issue that I am having is from chrome web browser then it stutters and there is no transcoding going on. It is a direct stream. The file is a MKV file 1080 HDR.

I downloaded the desktop app and it works great so thanks anyway.
