I think you saying Dave that you just think 42mbps is rather high for a 1080p film ? Well I agree it’s not the average but as this was a special edition I think they probably just up the bit rate some more.
Any feedback from devs ?
Thanks for the logs, I was able to track the problem down to an incorrect bitrate limitation being applied to UHDs when it should only apply to FHDs. I’ll put a fix in and try to get it in the next release
Brilliant, so did this change from 4.15.2 ?
Is that the 20mbps limit ? You do realise that was a 1080p file.
I’m saying that I think the two ends should come close to matching, not one end being twice the other.
And now we have seen it on three different clients. different shows/movies,
can’t seem to find a common item between them other then there all 1080p…
If you look at those tv screenshots I did, you can see the bitrate on those, the movie has over 10mbps more, I really think it depends on the film, plus I have noticed older films with more grain can add to bitrate.
We are talking about the transfer rate of the file… In this case on your local network.
Isn’t that going to 20mbps ? A bug confirmed here.
I run a gig network and the TV is 5ghZ WiFi, over 300mbps link, so all well within my speeds.
This is now available in 4.25.2. Please give it a try and see if that resolves the issue.
Good for me now, not transcoding. thanks!
It works! That’s perfect! Many many many thanks!!!
Perfect for me now, many thanks.
Hi @sLumpy,
I just posted this earlier not knowing what’s going on after weeks of browsing the forum/web, No longer can direct play raw DJI Osmo Action H.264 / Mavic 2 Pro H.265.
Searching thoroughly the forum again then I saw the 4.21.2 change log states “NEW: Added proper maximum bitrate to player profile” and another thread mentioning about Samsung bitrate transcoding issue so those gave me some hints…
So I looked into the logs (already upgraded to 4.25.2) and saw these:
Mar 23, 2020 17:15:43.888 [0x7f260b7fe700] INFO - [ui-safari-tizen] [MDE] Augmented profile: { "directPlay": { "mp4": { "video": { "codecs": { "h264": { "maxWidth": 4096, "maxHeight": 2160, "maxFrameRate": 60, "maxBitrate": 60000, "maxLevel": 52 }, "hevc": { "maxWidth": 4096, "maxHeight": 2160, "maxBitDepth": 10, "maxFrameRate": 60, "maxBitrate": 80000 }
And these for 4K H264 100Mbps:
Mar 23, 2020 17:15:39.221 [0x7f260b7fe700] WARN - [ui-safari-tizen] [MDE] Invalid profile property; width: 3840 > 1920
Mar 23, 2020 17:15:39.221 [0x7f260b7fe700] WARN - [ui-safari-tizen] [MDE] Invalid profile property; bitrate: 100034 > 60000
And these for 4K HEVC 10bit 100Mbps:
Mar 23, 2020 19:38:24.559 [0x7f268a7fc700] WARN - [ui-safari-tizen] [MDE] Invalid profile property; bitrate: 99900 > 80000
Seems now there’s a max bitrate H264 60Mbps and HEVC 80Mbps where previously before I can direct play these 4K 100Mbps video files without issues, lag or transcoding. Can we please have them both H264/HEVC max bitrate removed or increased like 102400? There’s plenty device out there capable of high 100Mbps+ bitrates…
