Sorry for asking again how to transfer my metadata from windows to a Nas? Now that I know that I’m going to use a NAS and not a RPI 4 , I did find a topic on how to transfer from a NAS to Windows but since I’m going in the opposite direction I didn’t want to make any mistakes. Specifically I’m going from W10 x64 to a Synology DS718+ with 2 WD Red 4TB drives. My current Plex setup has about 5 TB of movies and TV Shows on it. Will this guid apply to me?

I am still trying to grasp the Linux ecosystem trying to set this up on a PI actually 2 Pi 4’s one as a NAS the other as a Plex server it never worked so I decided to just get a Real NAS!

here are the generic instructions on how to migrate an existing Plex Media Server to another system while keeping your configuration and view history etc.

Beyond that I’ll recommend to use @trumpy81’s Synology FAQ – in particular Q25 which is focusing on how to migrate a setup to Synology:
