Transkodierung auf Plex Media Player Windows 10

Hallo zusammen,

ich bin seit gestern etwas ratlos.
Normalerweise schau ich zuhause immer über meinen Pi3 mit OpenPHT meine Filme. Das klappt dank AVR mit DTS/-HD und DD/-HD unterstützung ohne Transkodierung immer wundebar.
Momentan bin ich einige Zeit bei meiner Freundin. Dort hab ich einen Pi3+ mit OpenPHT am laufen. Directplay ist dank guter Uploadanbindung kein Problem. Die meisten Filme gehen ohne Transkodierung. Bei Filmen mit DTS Ton muss das ganze logischerweise transkodiert werden.

Jetzt zum eigentlichen Problem.

Wenn ich beim Pi3+ Audiopassthrough aktiviere muss das ganze bei folgenden Film trotzdem transkodiert werden. Desweiteren verstehe ich nicht, wenn die Quelldatei ein 1080p Format hat, dass der Server sich schwerer tut, wenn nur die Audiospur transkodiert werden müsste und die Bitrate unverändert bleibt, als wenn ich das ganze auf z.B. 2Mbps transkodiere.

Außerdem verstehe ich nicht, weshalb mein Windows 10 PC über die Plex App oder über den Plex Media Player die Datei auch transkodieren müsste. Sobald ich die Filmdatei im VLC oder MPC abspiele klappt doch auch alles wunderbar.
Habe da auch leider keine Möglichkeit gefunden, dass Direct Play erzwungen wird.

Was ist in OpenPHT als Obergrenze für die Bitrate eingestellt?

OpenPHT hat m.W. auch eine Einstellung wo man grundsätzlich Transkodierung erzwingen kann. Die sollte natürlich ausgeschaltet sein.

Der Server ist direkt erreichbar.
Die Obergrenze für die Bitrate war zuerst auf Maximum eingestellt, danach auf Direct Play.
Bei beiden kam das Selbe.

Die Audio Settings werde ich nochmals überprüfen und ggf. ändern.

Zum Thema Windows App, hättest du da eine Idee? DTS Ton sollte unterstützt werden, da der MPC & VLC das direkt abspielen. Oder transkodieren die Player das womöglich um?

VLC und möchte machen m. W. kein Passthrough. Die dekodieren alles selber.
Kann dein AMP das tatsächlich?
Mach doch mal testhalber die DTS Checkbox aus.

Irgendwie stellst du hier zuviele Fragen auf einmal. Nachdem ich mir noch Mal den ersten Post durchgelesen habe, bin ich mir nicht mehr sicher, was du eigentlich wissen willst.

Außerdem scheinst du die technischen Vorraussetzungen bei dir und bei deiner Freundin zu vermischen.

PMP hat übrigens auch Einstellungen für Passthrough. Die muss man allerdings erst mal finden. Die gibt es nur im TV Modus.

Andere Plex Client Typen können meist kein DTS dekodieren oder zum AMP durchreichen. Von daher ist Transkodieren bei denen unvermeidlich.

Ja das stimmt. Habe selbst gemerkt, dass es etwas durcheinander ist.

Desweiteren verstehe ich nicht, weshalb der Pi trotz Passthrough und auch mein Surface Pro 4 das nicht direkt abspielen kann, also als Direct Play, sondern transkodieren muss.

Die Einstellung am Surface im TV Mode werde ich nochmals überprüfen und ggf. umstellen. Auch am Pi werde ich das noch mal machen, sobald der Server gestartet ist.

Irgendwoher kommt die Limitierung auf 2 MBit/s. Wenn nur 2 mbps zur Verfügung stehen, wäre es Unsinn, die Tonspur mit mindestens 768 kbps so zu lassen. Da bleibt einfach zu wenig fürs Video übrig.
Du solltest also hier die Server Logdateien inspizieren um herauszufinden, warum die Transkodierung erfolgt.

Was das Surface betrifft: welche Plex App benutzt du darauf?

Also der AVR stellt auf DTS/Dolby Digital bzw. DTS-HD bzw. Dolby-Digital-HD um sobald das erkannt wird.
Der kann das also sicher. Der AVR ist aber bei mir zuhause.

Limitiert wird das nicht auf 2mbit. Ich stell das so ein, damit es schneller transkodiert. Andere Filme kann ich Original mit bis zu 35Mbps streamen übers Internet. Das ist kein Problem. Speziell bei diesem und wenigen anderen Filmen klappt das nicht direkt abzuspielen. Allerdings erkenne ich keinen unterschied zu den anderen.
Wenn ich den Original Bitrate stream, transkodiert er das auch in unveränderter bitrate. Aber er spielt es nicht direkt ab. Also dachte ich mir, dass es wohl am Pi liegt.
Deshalb hab ich dann an meinem Surface einmal den Plex Media Player gestartet und das selbe Problem, sowie die Plex App aus dem Microsoft Store.

Die Logdateien werde ich mir dann mal anschauen. Vielen Dank

Du vergleichst Äpfel und Birnen miteinander.
Du kannst keine Rückschlüsse ziehen durch den Vergleich von PHT mit der Windows App oder PMP.

Sobald du die Bitrate limitierst, muss transkodiert werden. Ein Verringern der Bitrate ohne Transkodieren ist nicht möglich. Und wenn auf eine solch niedrige Bitrate transkodiert wird, wird Surround Sound in Stereo umgewandelt.
Direct Play geht nur ohne Transkodierung.

Sorry habe mich etwas falsch ausgedrückt.

Ich will nicht die bitrate limitieren. Ich will den Film in Original abspielen. Ich habe in den Einstellungen jeweils Direct Play ausgewählt und nirgends die bitrate limitiert. Die blieb unverändert. Trotzdem hat er transkodiert. Selbst bei der Windows App und dem PMP. Dort habe ich ebenfalls Original Bitrate gelassen.

“Original” heißt nur “original Bitrate”. Es bedeutet nicht zwangsweise “kein Transkodieren”.

Da hilft nur die Server-Logfiles zu inspizieren. Notiere dir die Uhrzeit zu der auf Playback gedrückt wurde, sonst ist es fast unmöglich die richtige Stelle in den Logs zu finden.

Erkennt Plex etwa, dass die Internetleitung nicht schnell genug ist und transcodiert deswegen automatisch? Meine Freundin soll wohl eine 16k Leitung haben, nach dem Speedtest gerade kommen aber nur 12-13k rein.

Denn mit dem Fehler vom fehlenden Audio Profil kann ich nichts anfangen. Andere Filme mit DTS gehen problemlos. Und wie gesagt ist in den Einstellungen alles auf Original eingestellt.

Edit: An der Internetleitung sollte es nicht liegen, dass Plex diese transkodiert.

Nein, das Wichtigste ist das hier:
Streaming Resource: Bandwidth exceeded: 39133 kbps > 32000 kbps

Irgendwo ist eine Bandbreitenobergrenze von 32 MBit/s eingestellt.
Ich würde mal vermuten unter
Einstellungen - Server - Fernzugriff - “Upload-Geschwindigkeit”

Da sind komischerweise 40 MBit/s eingestellt.
Der Film erreicht aber doch nicht mal die 32 MBit/s.

Welcher Ansichtsmodus wird in PMP benutzt?

Habs sowohl mit dem Normalen, als auch mit dem TV Modus getestet. Hab Original darin eingestellt.

Wüsste nicht woher. Andere Filme mit ähnlicher Bitrate spielt er ja auch direkt ab.

Ei verflixt. Ich hatte darauf spekuliert, dass die Videobandbreite höhere Spitzen zeigt. Aber das sieht alles ganz gewöhnlich aus. Hmpf!
