Let’s try something - take naming & organization out of the picture. Try an Other Videos library.
- Go to Settings → server_name → Library
- Make sure
Scan my library automaticallyis checked (adds extra info to log files). - Create a new, Other Videos library (call it “test” or whatever).
No need to delete the movies library. - Point the new library at …/Public, the same folder as the movie library
- Go to Settings → server_name → Libraries (not Library) and click Scan Library Files (it will scan all libraries).
Using Plex Web, go to the new library. Make sure you’re on the Library tab (not Recommended or Categories).
You should see the files, listed by their file names.
Now do the same using the Plex app on the Shield. You should see the same.
Then please pull the server log files (Settings → Troubleshooting) and upload the zip file to the thread (same as screenshot).
No bueno on the test library, I’m just going to feed the movies on a USB hard drive to the library. This has become more trouble than it’s worth. Thank you everyone for your suggestions
