I’m having a problem with a specific episode of Lost, S04E14. It follows the same naming convention as the others but for some reason Plex isn’t matching it. Episode 13, There’s no place like home (2) was found fine, but There’s no place like home (3) isn’t found, has anyone come across this?? Here’s how each of the episodes are named:
Lost - 4x13 - There’s No Place Like Home (2)
Lost - 4x14 - There’s No Place Like Home (3)
I’ve double checked IMDB and there is 14 episodes, so I can’t understand why Plex won’t match it?
Plex doesn’t use IMDB for episode ordering. By default, it uses The Movie Database, which has season 4 listed as having 13 episodes.
However, you can change the episode ordering to use “TheTVDB (Aired)” which is shown as having 14 episodes.
To do so, edit the show itself (find the top-level show poster in your library view, select the edit/pencil icon at the bottom-right) and head to the advanced tab. In there, change the episode ordering to "TheTVDB “Aired.”
You may need to refresh metadata for the show after doing so.
Side note: Plex doesn’t technically support the season/episode naming convention you’re using (4x13, 4x14, etc.). It does try to accommodate alternate formats, but it really wants to see SxxEyy. For example, S04E13 and S04E14. I only mention in case it breaks somewhere down the road for you. The article I linked above has more detail on naming and organization as well.
