When I’m in settings and go to libraries, I have a notification to upgrade to a new library agent that is supposed to be better, newer, faster, and more accurate. When I click to upgrade it just says “There was a problem upgrading the library” anyone know what’s going on??
I have exactly the same issue…
Make sure that
- your volume which hosts the plex data folder has plenty of free storage
- the plex database is in good health Repair a Corrupted Database | Plex Support
- there are currently no other tasks running, like e.g. the server maintenance, or library updates, or metadata refreshes
I fixed everything manually except for My TV shows. I can figure why that won’t populate. This so called upgrade did not go smoothly.
Was there a cause discovered for the error? I am in a good state for the things OttoKerner mentioned, but I receive an error specifically on my TV library.

Make sure your server software version is updated. Otherwise the library conversion will fail.
