So after a long week my head is spinning trying to trouble shoot this issue. I have some episodes that are not playing while others are. I’ll try to give all the information i can here but would love help trying to see where else i can go to troubleshoot.
So by “not playing” i mean that when you start the episode it switches over to the player interface the circle just spins. The server does not see the connection in at this point To add to this some episodes i can play locally and remotely but my parents get the circle (not playing) yet the server says it is playing. I use Brave browser for my tests as well as the new Chrome version of Edge. My parents are running IE on a Win7 machine and Edge (not sure which version) on Win 10.
Another testing point. I just tried to play the episode we all are having problems with in the browser on an Nvidia Shield client and it works.
Other info:
I just did an upgrade of hardware and upgraded Plex server with a relatively clean install. By relatively clean i created a new DB and just brought over watch data from the old DB to this one.
Hardware:
i9-9900k
64GB RAM
1TB m.2 OS drive
1TB m.2 Plex Media Server Drive
P4000 Quadro
and i setup a 16 GB RAMDisk for transcoding.
(another issue i want to look at is buffering issues i seem to be having)
So where and what should i be looking at to try and get to the next steps?
