Plex Live TV/DVR feature has come a long way from the disaster it was 4 years ago. The new UI is great! Playback of live and recorded content is pretty solid. I have seen a few quirks with playback of a recording that is in progress. And, I could complain about the startup lag. I guess everything is still getting transcoded? But, all things considered, it’s a huge improvement.
That said, I am having some problems with shows not getting recorded. I have an HDHomeRun Extend and an old HDHomeRun Dual connected for a total of 4 tuners. It seems like Plex won’t use more than one tuner for recording? In time slots where I had more than one program scheduled to record, only one program from a given time slot was actually recorded. I do have a Flex 4K coming this week that I’ll swap out the Dual for. Hopefully, that solves the problem.
It does raise the question about tuner priority. I would want the Flex 4K to be the primary tuner with the Extend as the secondary tuner. But, from what I can tell from the behavior of Plex so far, the order of the tuners in the Channel Sources list does not reflect tuner priority. Is there a way to specify tuner priority?
