Trying to add media library on other internal drives - add library only sees "C:\"

Hello - I have Plex Media Server installed on Windows 11 computer, that has many other internal SATA drives. My videos are on those other internal SATA drives. I cannot add library because when I go through the steps, I am only presented with my C:\ boot drive to choose. I have tried typing in the internal drive letter like, G:, but after clicking add, it does not add anything. I have share the drive with “everyone” user group, but still Plex Media Servicer add-library steps only give me C: drive to select libraries. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you running Plex server as a Windows system service?

Hello - I did not create a service, I just ran the installed. I see the Plex Update Service is running but I assume that may not be the service you are referring to?

No, it isn’t. But let’s leave that aside.

Are the media drives hidden behind some access control mechanism, like Drive Encrypt or similar?
Are they regular hard drives, with everything standard, or do they use some special driver software?

When did you last time perform a real reboot of the machine? (shutting down and powering on again doesn’t count as a reboot)

Hello - nothing special about the drives. Standard SATA drives NTSF. . No encryption, nothing special. A new build PC with clean Win 11 install. Boot drive is an M.2 NVME while the other 8 drives are Sata, connected direct to motherboard. MOBO is ASrock x670e Taichi carrera. No 3rd party security software. Just basic Windows defender stuff

Also, on prior PC, which was Windows 10, I was able to connect to other internal SATA drives.

Also, I rebooted at least once every day the past week, as I have been installing software

A basic rule with Plex is to always use folders. Never “naked” drive letters.
What happens if you create a folder on G:, e.g. G:\Movies
put a movie into it, then paste the drive letter and the folder into the Add Folder dialog?

btw. do you have more than one Windows user account on this machine?

Hello - I do have folders on all the SATA internal drives, but the add library wizard does not show any of the other drives to select the folders that are on them.

Just one user, me.

Hello - I now have it working. I turned off every possible option on WIndows security and then the drives were visible. Now I will turn on one by one to determine which setting was causing this.
Thanks for your help

Try “Core Isolation” first.

Set all things in “Exploit Protection” to default settings.
