We are trying to link our tv to plex. On tv I get the link or sign in with Google. Sign in with Google does nothing. I open plexus in my browser and get the page asking to enter 4 digit code. Code is not displayed on tv??? How do I get the code??
You need to start by telling us what brand of TV and what OS it runs.

Skip any “sign in with…” option. There should be a normal sign in choice that shows you the code and refers you to plex.tv/link to enter it.
How old is the tv? If the tv doesn’t give a link code, it may be too old to connect that way.
If you’re local to the server, you can add the tv ip to the field “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” to have it attempt to bypass auth and still connect. You would click “skip sign in” on the sign in screen once you add it. If that option exists.
The TV would have to be pretty old for that. Mine’s four years old and still supported by Google Play, so it can still run the current Plex app. Even if the OP’s TV is older the link code option has been around for years, too. So even an older Plex app from when the TV was still supported would have the normal sign in option.
Please forgive the question: did you install the proper “Plex” app onto the TV device, or are you trying to use the generic DLNA player that is built into it?
Just wanted to check. When I’ve stayed at a few Airbnbs they have old projectors/tvs that won’t allow the sign in option and the link code never appears..so sounds similar, but can’t really tell based on the original details so wanted to check.
Side remark: never sign in a device that is not your own.
There are too many things that can go wrong in such a scenario.
If you must, bring your own streaming stick and plug that into a HDMI port.
Yah, I always bring a firestick and now an onn device. Couldn’t reach the projector to plug anything in, so had tried the login with a google account with an account that’s not my main. But thanks for the reminder!
I’ve seen a few comments from folks that can’t log out of devices that were logged in that way after they leave and forgot. I guess you have to deauth the device via that account directly, not in plex?
I found a screen recently (on the Plex account site) that allows one to deauth a Roku Account you have authorized on your account (since Roku devices are not authenticated individually to a Plex account). But I have heard of this same issue happening with Playstation game consoles, too.
