Trying to debug lack of lyrics - Log file not always updated

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711
Player Version#: Windows 1.24.0.1483-714cba36

(File removed)

I have ‘reset’ my plex library (i.e. changed to a different server and now trying to follow the proper folder/file naming conventions) and noticed a lot of songs not having lyrics. In my previous server, the lyrics were available for ~85% of the tracks, now it is about 2%. I have had this server up an running for about two weeks, so I would think that would be plenty of time to pull the lyrics.

While playing around and looking at different articles, I tried to go to a specific album and Refresh Metadata. It worked for one album out of about 6 other ones that did nothing. What is interesting is that when it worked, it updated the log file (attached). But for albums that did not get lyrics, no update to the log file was created, which implies to me that the attempt to get lyrics was not even attempted during the refresh.

Any other places I can check to determine why certain albums aren’t getting lyrics? I do have track numbers for most of the songs, so that should help, correct?

Thanks,
Paul

The main log ZIP is of primary help in almost all cases.

Agent logs are only of interest when there is a very specific matching problem.

It’s usually best to keep it simple. start at the top and work your way down.

DEBUG logs (not VERBOSE) please?

Thanks @ChuckPa. I have added the zip file and I appreciate your review. Just before grabbing the log container I ran a ‘Refresh Metadata’ on an album called ‘The Story of the Clash, Volume 1’ by The Clash which did not pull lyrics. I also did the ‘Refresh Metadata’ on an album called ‘Mirror Moves’ by The Psychedelic Furs which seems to have pulled the Lyrics. So, I guess this comes down to two questions.

  1. Why am I needing to force a Refresh Metadata to get some lyrics?
  2. Why are many albums still not getting the lyrics even after a ‘Refresh Metadata’?

Well, I hate to push, but have you had a chance to investigate? I’m still scratching my head on this.

Thanks.
