Up until I updated to 1.22.1, most of my vocal music would show lyrics, if I set it to.
Now there are no lyrics or settings to do this.
What happened?
There isnât any setting to enable. You might have to refresh metadata

That worked for a while, but after a couple of updates, I am back to no lyrics. âRefresh Metadataâ doesnât bring them back anymore. Are there some other settings I need to change?
So stuff that had lyrics no longer do, or new stuff is not getting them?
Both. No lyrics for songs that previously had them, and no lyrics for recently added ones.
I have updated and scanned and refreshed metadata. Still no lyrics.

You are not alone and even though this thread is in the server-mac section, I use windows and also have no lyrics in both the server and in the client (and no lyric button option anymore in the client).
Seemed to happen after upgrading recently to the server version 1.22.2.4282.
Just tested and rolling back to the previous server 1.22.2.4276 works.
Edit: with additional testing it appears to work for a number of them but not all (even with an album refresh)âŠthough that might be related to uninstalling/reinstalling and might need a full refresh of the metadataâŠor perhaps just some time.
If it helps, here are the info.xml files (for the music and lyric find agents) for the album that used to have lyrics.

Though the music xml appears correct, the album id in the lyric find xml is null.
There were no errors in the com.plexapp.agents.lyricfind logs and it said everything completed correctly.

I did not attach the underlying main log due to concerns of private info. However, please let me know if you need them (or anything else) and I could PM them to you.
Not sure if the server logs will still have them if this happened a few days ago but if you can message me the full server logs zip file. Refreshing metadata for library waiting a bit for it to finish then grab logs would be helpful too. ( try not to have anything playing at same time so the logs donât fill up with playback event)
Also curious if when doing a get info and looking at that XML if it shows there should be lyrics.

Itâs been over a month since I posted about no lyrics.
The problem persists.
Evidently me and StormDragon are the only users who have the issue, or nobody else cares.
So, are lyrics gone from Plex?
Is it a bug?
Or, is eliminating them another âimprovementâ like the new home screen than spews crap all over my screen that I canât Get rid of like I used to?
Plex have problems now: music lost styles, genre radio donât work, cover art too. Hope they fix it.
I believe server v1.23 is going to address this, if I understand correctly. Iâm not sure when it will become available, though.
it is fixed in 1.23 which should be out soon. there were multiple forum topics about this sorry about not updating this one.
I can confirm on the Plex server for Windows 1.23, which released today, that the lyrics appear to be back after doing a full refresh of the music metadata.
Only beta?
AFAIK that is the usual process for Plex when they release fixes.
Eventually, there will be an announcement like <version> is now available to everyone when it comes out of beta.
