Trying to establish remote access while VPN is active

I am having issues trying to get remote access to work while the VPN is active. it works just fine when the VPN is off, but when i turn the VPN. My friends say they are indirectly connected and the quality is garbage.

Not the most inclined person, any help would be great

By default most VPNs will take over all traffic leaving your system. What have you tried so far?

A good first question might be … why are you running the VPN? Is your goal to route Plex traffic through the VPN, or to bypass the VPN for Plex traffic?
