Trying to establish remote access while VPN is active

I am having issues trying to get remote access to work while the VPN is active. it works just fine when the VPN is off, but when i turn the VPN. My friends say they are indirectly connected and the quality is garbage.

ExpressVPN and Plex woes

Hey all, I know ExpressVPN is pretty popular these days (especially for un-geoblocking) so hopefully I can get an answer here - Has anyone here managed to get their PMS working with ExpressVPN enabled? By default most VPNs will take over all traffic leaving your system. What have you tried so far?

A good first question might be … why are you running the VPN? Is your goal to route Plex traffic through the VPN, or to bypass the VPN for Plex traffic?
