I had cine trailers working for a long time, but all of the sudden they have started loading. (to be clear, the will load on plex on my tv & phone, but not on either of my 2 computers all on the same network. I also have a local server and a cloud server and my local server works fine, but my cloud server just will not load trailers at all. I have changed every setting and worked on it until I have almost given up. it just baffles me what has changed and why I can’t fix it.

in this, I tried loading the trailer from the info box, and tried watching the movie with 3 trailers…then I disabled trailers and the movie just played and it is a fresh restart
Quick weekend update. Trailers worked until I added my 4th library, then stopped. It’s also hard to pay attention to exactly when the trailers stopped working, but I am finding a common trend where trailers stop working after the 4th directory is added, regardless of the number of files. This may also coincide in that by the time I get to the 4th directory, roughly the same amount of time has passed on all of my other attempts/fresh installs. So really not sure what is going on at all, but will keep trying.
For the fresh install I am about to do, how would anyone who is willing to help want me to report to them? Do you want a fresh log from start (fresh install) to finish (first notice of trailers breaking)? It’s hard for me to hang around the computer while all of my media is being added, so I probably won’t be able to report exact time frames. For all I know, the trailers might break at 2 AM when I’m already asleep.
Interesting.
Perhaps try adding the libraries in a different order? Non movies libraries first, then movies last, and see if trailers work that way.
explain in detail please.
Also to be the most help I suggest doing carefully whatever MovieFan.Plex asks, e.g.
Can you restart PMS, then play 1 movie, then get me the log so I can check what is going on.
@jeebus You do not have debug logging enabled so there isn’t any info in your logs to diagnose. Please enable debug logging, reproduce the issue, grab new logs.
@fourulse any update on whether your trailers are working?
Sorry for being AFK, but happy new year guys. Hectic holiday season, but will be trying to take a look at this again either this weekend or next. I’m just trying to find time to hunker down and kind of keep testing the trailers until they break and marking that time down. I’m not sure if they break in 20 minutes, an hour, or a day after re-installation, so I’ll try my best.
I’ve tried again, and same issue, but had to reset my computer and lost the logs due to a critical system crash. I really don’t know what to do any more unfortunately. It’s a pain to completely clean out Plex’s installation and start from scratch with thousands of movies and shows. I may try again next weekend as I have V-Day plans, and will let everyone know, hopefully with logs.

Please find my attached log. I decided to actually do it. I began redoing my server around 12:30 PM, it is now 7 PM and I am now noticing no trailers are playing.

The logs encompass that full 6 or so hour period.
Gentle bump. Would you take a look at the logs for me @anon18523487
I just discovered recently through another user with a similar issue, the results are based on the language you set for preferred audio language under your account settings. Do you have a language selected there? Leaving that on “Select language” will cause this issue. Pick your appropriate language.
