Trying to transcode 4k HDR to 1080SDR crashes after a few seconds

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3616
Player Version#: Plex for Windows 1.23.0.1435-e10e14cf
Nivida Quadro P2000
Running in K8s using linuxserver image,

Standard HW transcoding works fine, but when trying the new HDR->SDR (thanks btw), it plays for a few seconds, I see a ~1.3GB transcode process in the process list in NVIDIA-SMI and then it just crashes back out. I know this is a brand new feature and needs bugs worked out, but just wanted to mention it. I’ll grab debug logs tomorrow.

According to this forum thread, K8’s isn’t supported, could be related.

While I get that k8s isn’t supported, the official docker container also has a version (1.1.1-2) of beignet-opencl-icd that seems doesn’t include Coffee Lake support. It looks like the patches we need for Coffee Lake are in version 1.3.2-3 according to the Debian changelog , and Ubuntu seems to follow. FWIW, I’m not running k8s, just a simple docker compose with the official container.

I think thats for intel only, right? I’m running nvidia which should be supported according to the HDR-> SDR matrix.

I’m not sure myself. Hopefully a Plex Ninja will come along and see this. I just happened to be looking through any new threads since yesterday’s update.
