Tuner "DuoFlex", not official supported, ends with "Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna"

Hello everybody,

I have installed the plex server on my Win7 computer. In this I have 4 cable tv tuners: “DuoFlex” from Digital Devices

The scan of the channels has delivered about 565 channels - I think some radio channels and encrypted are also included -, the epg has matched 137 enabled channels successfully and I can see the tv program of every channel in the guide.
But if I want to watch the live TV of one of these channels I got the message “Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna”.

I think everything is clear, the tuner is not supported by the plex server, but why does the scan and the epg matches 137 enabled channels? And why shows the signal strength of every channel 5 green bars?

Is there something I can do to use these tuners with plex, any parameter I can change?

You might need to check with your cable company to see if these channels are encrypted. Plex technically has no problem tuning to the channel, which is why it can scan it, but it can’t actually show the content if it is encrypted. Plex does not have a way to know if something is encrypted until it tries to view it.

Thank you for your answer. The channels aren’t encrypted, at least two of them I have tested.

You’ll need to provide your logs after recreating the error. Both server and client.
