Tuner: Octopus NET

PLEX DVR…

I have been around the net, trying to figure out what kind of possibilities there are regarding an Network TV tuner.
and what about this Octupus Net
https://digitaldevices.de/products/network_tv_tuner/

The question is, what kind of protocols Plex is using for communicating with an network tuner?
its an RTSP device and the information from the webpage is the following:

Streamingengine
12 single cast clients (independent of the quantity of the connected tuners)
Streaming of 12 complete transponders
RTP streaming with very low latency
UDP streaming with very low latency
Very low jitter
Consistent network utilisation and no peaks
Notice: improve the quality of the WLAN data transmission significantly
Complete hardware filtering for all PIDs ( no limitation )
SAT>IP (Version 1.2) for 12 singlecast clients and/or max 12 multicast streams
flexible configuration singlecast and / or multicast
SPTS: a SPTS-Version is available for the 8 tuner Octopus NET against an additional fee

This product seems very promising

Getting Support for RTSP Streams would be great.

I myself use a AVM DVB-C Repeater that offers RTSP for streams. It’s targeted for the German market:

Any idea if those might get supported in the future? I didn’t find anything.

That is actually a really cool product… hoping Plex will take this protocol into consideration in future development!

Den AVM DVB-C Repeater in Plex zu integrieren ist noch nicht möglich. Kann jemand angaben machen, ob die Plex-Programierer das schon auf der Aufgaben- oder Wunschliste haben?

At the moment I think only the HDHomeRun network tuners are possible and it’s using HDHomeruns api for this.
I agree that RTSP would be great.

For the time being I’m using TVHeadend and the tvheadend HD homerun proxy to use a similar network tuner
