Tv always wants to trancode

I have a very basic NAS (WDcloudMirror). It can not transcode. Direct play works perfect on my windows laptop, Android phone and tablad. I watch trough a chromecast. But my panasonic tv supports the plex app. But when I wanna watch it always says: the server is not powerful enough So, I know but why is it only on the tv app? Android and windows(web and app) works perfectly. Its just a lot easyer to watch trough te tv app.
Can somebody helps me?

The reason it may be working fine on your laptop, phone or tablet is that it can play more formats possibly vs the tv which is causing it to want to transcode and you mentioned that your server is not able to transcode. Also can check the tv settings and make sure it’s set to maximum quality etc, so it will try to play the videos without transcoding as that can cause transcoding too. If you still have issues, you may want to look at putting the server on another device like a Nvidia shield, laptop, pc that’s always running and just point to the media on your MyCloud drive.

But without subs is works perfectly. It is only with the srt file that is doesnt work. Is this than because of the tv?

I believe transcoding is needed as well for subtitles. Do you have a laptop or pc that you can install Plex and keep running all the time? Should solve your transcoding needs.
