TV Artwork

So I just got the email regarding Plex Server not being able to get TV show metadata from January 31st unless updating to the latest server version.

This is frustrating as I only just downgraded to an earlier server version as the latest one broke the HelloHue plugin.

Can anyone offer a solution? Seems like I have to chose between having TV show metadata or having my lights work with Plex.

Not happy!

Well plug-ins being discontinued was announced in September 2018, well over a year ago. The change on the provider end for artwork requires changes on the Plex media server end which will only be available in the latest version.

So, yes, unfortunately you are going to have to choose.

So my server version is locked at 1.9.6.4429, with the android phone apps from around the same time. This is mainly to a avoid the change which stopped us being able to create our own folders & categorize them as we see fit. Good job Plex with this forced change, time to look elsewhere. Unless someone can confirm if the shitsfest auto-categorisation has been removed or at least allow users to now select their own folders & content to be viewed as they want…? In which case I may upgrade, but I won’t put up with the abortion they rolled out around 2 years ago which broke the entire product as far as I’m concerned.

I can only second the disappointment.

I’m stuck on a 1.9.4 PMS version because since about 10 months ago Plex Transcoder.exe causes constant crashes to my Windows Server 2016.

It NEVER happens on the older PMS server versions and it’s been impossible to track down and to be fair, impossible to find anyone who can help me track it down.

Is it really time to look for an alternative? Been a Plex Pass lifetime member since the early days so this is of course a sad day to be sure.

Another moronic move from the “dev” team.

At least now I know why Hellohue has stopped working on my 2 servers. :frowning:

Guess I will have to manually adjust lights instead again now.
