All of a sudden any new TV shows are not getting their metadata, everything is blank! I just noticed it when I added a new TV show and no images were loaded. After looking, seems the last time a Tv show was updated properly was Dec 19th. I run my plex in Freenas and it is updated to the most recent version. Any hints on what I could check?
Just to add…I have tried to manually match and it finds and says it is downloading it but nothing ever shows up.
I have the same issue with a small difference. The meta was working for TV until 1/4/17. Earlier that day, I started using the DVR beta version of the server. The TV meta was working after the install, but then disappeared. One caveat is that I was prompted to update the server and did only to realize it updated the non-beta, non-DVR version of the server. Once I got the DVR beta version back up and running, the meta was still there for a few hours then it was gone.
I read on other posts from December and am thinking it may be the TV Database having issues, but just don’t know. Any input or thoughts from others?
While I think we can blame the TVDB for some of the problems, I suspect that something has changed in the way Plex scrapes its data. All or most 3rd party TV agents seem to have problems since Plex Media Server 1.3.0 was released. Posters, season posters, etc seem to vanish regularly from that version on. Reverting to Plex Media Server 1.2.7 seems to fix the problem in those cases
I suspect that some of the code for the DVR Beta has been introduced into the main server edition in preparation for future release. That code may work to identify recorded files and EPG data and sort them out in an appropriate Plex manner, but perhaps it needs some tweaking for it to work in the rest of the Plex world.
As I say, nothing but a suspicion, but if you line up the various release dates, it COULD be a possibility…
