A month or two ago, Plex stopped adding artwork to new titles automatically like it always has. It doesn’t add Cover art, or Background art, and most importantly, for tv episodes, it doesn’t add episode art. This is the most frustrating as it is the most time consuming to do manually. I assume this is a bug and not the new normal. But is this on anyone’s radar? Did I look at my server wrong and this is my punishment?

Which version of the Plex Media Server do you have installed on your Linux?
Is this an issue with e.g. only tv content or across different/all library types?
Movies and TV both. (Haven’t tried music.) Version 4.12.3.

Updating your server should fix this… see
On January 31, 2020, one of the primary sources of TV artwork in your Plex library will be making a configuration change that will prevent any new TV shows added to libraries on older Plex Media Servers from getting artwork.
Starting January 31st, Plex Media Server version 1.18.2 or higher will be required to continue fetching TV show posters and episode thumbnails from TheTVDB.
If you’re currently running an older server version, make sure you grab and install the latest release to keep thing…
Edit:
… should be one part of the problem
I just installed 1.18.5.2309. Rebooted. Still not getting artwork for tv or movies. Neither on Refresh Metadata actions or on Add to Library actions.

Any firewall or other limiting components on your Linux that could prevent Plex from picking up artwork?
No sir. No firewall. And nothing has changed on my system since it was working.
And it IS downloading the artwork. It’s just not automatically applying it like it used to.

There’s been a similar thread on issues with an Unraid setup some time ago…
Server Version#: 1.18.3.2111
Player Version#:All
At at a loss here. Plex will download all metadata properly but not select the movie poster. If I hit edit and go to poster they are all there to select from.
I have messed with agent setting switching from plex movie to the movie db. Remove all local media assets from agents/ Heck removed everything that I could remove and same result.
Each time I added the movie (after the plex dance) it would pull up the generic picture from somewhere in…
Users were able to get it back to work by clearing some stuck files/folders.
See post #13 in this thread.
Back in business! Thanks!
