This is the last version of plex server that works for me, If i upgrade I cannot see anything in my TV Library, just error “Something Went Wrong Unexpected Error.” Happens on all players, Apple TV, IOS, Android TV and web based. Once server is upgraded to a newer version, TV shows still show on home screen as recently added, but library cannot be seen. If I downgrade to 1.22.3.4523 all works again, but all releases included June 21st 1.22.3.4707 cause the error. Suggestions?
I have had no response and still have the issue. I have tried several things, but no change. It appears there is no way to get plex support, other than the forums. For now I am still able to function on the old version. But eventually they will release updates that I want. Figure options are to try fresh install of the server, maybe a reimage of the PC. But if those all fail, then I will need to search for an alternate server/program. Be sad as I have been using plex for over a decade.
Ok, I threw everything I could at this issue and may have gone to extreme. But I did solve the problem. Posting this in case anyone else is having the issue. I tried fresh install of Plex, as well as creating a new profile on Mac. No change in the behaviour. As this is a dedicated machine, I chose to wipe the hard drive and start clean, no restore from backup. This gave me some success as TV shows stopped showing the error, but new problem was not all TV shows were present and those that were are placed under one show as different seasons. So this led me to think that the metadata was the issue. So on the TV drive, I deleted all old meta data, if the file was not an episode I deleted it. I took extra steps of temporarily moving the shows to another drive and formatting the original drive, before moving items back. With all this I had success and the TV library is now working as it should.
So looking back I think I would have tackled this differently, while a fresh clean Mac is never a bad thing, I am convinced the issue was old metadata files impacting a newer Plex server. I believe had I just did the steps to remove the old metadata I think my issue would have been solved.
Can’t say this will work for everyone, but I found the other tips on this issue did not solve my problem.
