At random intervals my Samsung TV looses the link to my Plex account. I use this daily and it randomly drops the link and I have to go through the whole process of setting up my preferences each time. Is anyone else experiencing this? It doesn’t happen with any regularity, not even at updates (which seem to happen too frequently lately.
Hey. We are brainstorming about why this might happen but can’t think of anything just yet. Want to make sure that nobody or third party app might be removing devices from the authorized devices page.
One thing to check:
Take a look into the settings menu of your TV, or into the configuration of your router.
Note down which local IP address has been assigned to that TV device.
Then if the issue is has been repeated, look again and see if the IP is now different.
It seems to have more to do with using voice commands to turn my tv off than anything. Occasionally I will have plex open and tell Alexa to turn the tv off and it also logs out of my plex account.
The problem was is happening when I either shut down the tv while being logged in or I use Alexa to shut it down by voice command.
For example a recent time it happened I told Alexa to stop playing and then to shut down and it logged me out. Today I used the remote and turned it off directly while playing and it logged me out.
be struggling to reproduce this. before powering off tv can you enable logging to server in the app. hopefully it sends something to server logs on what told it to sign out.
Not seeing where this option is in the menus. Can you tell me where to look for it. I enabled verbose logging if that’s what you’re talking about.
