The teen kid or managed user with the TV-MA custom filter can search for Hannibal and watch this live channel, even though Hannibal (on demand) does not show up anywhere else like Binge-Worthy. Is there any plan to set live channels to have the appropriate ratings and make the content filters apply to these channels?
The custom filters apply to items you share — not items a user might have access to from Plex ‚ online media sources.
In combination with such a custom restriction you can only opt to enable/disable online media sources for your managed users.
If you want to apply age restrictions for online media sources you’ll need to stick with the out-of-the-box restriction profiles (e.g. young kid, teen…)
Thanks Tom for the reply. I’m a newbie here and probably did the wrong thing updating the post title and contents since I saw some of this getting updated properly. You can see after some minutes of setup, my test parent account with the TV-MA filter removed Hannibal actually from Binge-Worthy, which is great!
So now the one thing that rhymes with what you are saying, is the live channels being accessible to the restricted accounts. Being able to block certain live channels from managed accounts would be amazing.
