It still has the DVD order for Batman, but, the thing is, if you name BTAS according to TVDB then when you go into Plex & change it to show in DVD order, it mixes up the files as in Plex will show that “Leathered Wings” is the 1st episode (as it should be according to the content creators), but, if you pull the info on that show within Plex it’ll show the true name of the file which will be “the cat & the claw pt. 1”, it sucks, but it is what it is
After you change the show order, you must Refresh Metadata.
The only thing which might be off, is the thumbnail picture of the episodes.
So I just did that… went in, changed BTAS from airing order to dvd order… refreshed the metadata for only that show, once it completed, checked the info from the very 1st episode, while plex showed it to be “leathered wings” the actual info showed it to be “cat & the claw pt. 1”, verified it by playing the 1st episode & it was “cat & the claw” not “leathered wings”
And what was the file name of this file?
the file name is the “cat & the claw pt. 1” so, whether I set it to airing order or DVD order, the file that always plays regardless is “the cat & the claw pt. 1”… even when Plex shows it as being “Leathered Wings” under the DVD order selection
I hope this is not the complete file name.
Use the naming schema from @NewPlaza 's first answer above.
The episode numbers must already follow the DVD sorting order!
Let me re-phrase it, in my file directory it’s properly named as “Batman - The Animated Series (1992) - s01e01 - The Cat & the Claw Pt. I” I just shortened it in my previous answer because I didn’t feel like writing all that the 1st time around. As far as the DVD order, your final sentence is what I figured needs to happen since I also have Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes set to DVD order, only difference is that I have the episode numbers named in my directory according to the DVD order instead of the airing date like TVDB does which is most likely the reason as to why it is showing properly in Plex. I did notice that when I set A: EMH to airing order the file name that Plex displayed was completely different than what the “get info” option within Plex was showing. I’m just going to have to go through & re-number BTAS properly… thanks for all your help in this matter!
I have been able to get Batman to work correctly in DVD Order for Season 1, but I cannot get Season 2 from the DVD order to work correctly. What is the trick to get it to work correctly and pull the DVD Order Season 2 metadata?
As an example, I have S02 E29 - Eternal Youth under Batman the Animated Series, but Plex just puts Episode 29 for Season 2 and does not pull any metadata
Thanks
when following the DVD order it needs to be labeled like they have it on the volume’s collection so it’s not s02 e29 - Eternal Youth
it should be s02 e01 - Eternal Youth
follow this link & go down to the images, it should be the 3rd picture… each color is a different volume/season so when starting on seasons 3 & 4 make sure you put the correct numbering so it should be
s03 e01 - Name
s04 e01 - Name
anyways, here’s the link: Batman: The Animated Series Collection
That and the Plex dance worked perfectly. Thanks
