TV series index from main area counts Specials as a season

When a TV series has, say, 3 “real” seasons plus a Specials directory with one episode in it, the main index screen that lists all of the TV shows you have shows 1 season more than the actual number of seasons. The Specials folder should not count as a season since typically these are one-offs, perhaps a holiday episode for example. This is probably a bug, as Plex “knows” how many real seasons there are once you go into the actual TV show area itself. It caused a question from a viewer and I hadn’t noticed it before but they are correct, it should not count that extra folder. I haven’t added other folder types to a TV series so not sure if it is limited to Specials or also counts any other folders.

I don’t think it’s so much a bug… a lot of shows have lots of real content as specials, so it can well be perceived as a real season.

That being said… there’s a feature suggestion asking to change the current behavior (or at least have an option to do that).

Then I would suggest that you can create a “season 0” directory and put the “real” extra season content in there. I think the index area should only count the folders named “season”. And if the devs want, why not also say something like “plus other content” or similar? There’s plenty of room under the titles…
