I have my server working great, but I have one small problem. One of the TV series I have, when looking at it from the main dashboard or even the TV series dashboard, it has a trashcan over the series. I have gone through and all the episodes are there, and everything is working correctly. How do I get it to remove the trash can from it and see that it does not need to be removed.
Series name?
How do you have it named and structured?
Screenshots Please.
Here is the information that I have setup for it. All my other TV shows do not have this problem. This is the only one that shows the trash can, but all the files are there and I can watch them all. Thank for the help
Daniel Boone
I will not list all my files, but they are setup in the following structure:
TV Shows (Folder)
Daniel Boone (Folder)
Season 1 (Folder)
Daniel Boone.S01E01.Ken-Tuck-E.avi
Daniel Boone.S01E02.Tekawitha McLeod.avi
Season 2 (Folder)
Daniel Boone.S02E01.Empire of the Lost.avi
Daniel Boone.S02E02.The Tortoise and the Hare.avi
Etc. for each season and episode.
While not in compliance with Plex guidelines for naming and if the ‘dots’ aren’t freaking Plex out that ‘may’ work. The absolute compliant method would be:
A TV Show Library/
…Daniel Boone/
…Season 01/
…Daniel Boone - S01E01 - Ken-Tuck-E.avi
FileBot can do that in seconds (link in my signature).
It could be an issue with a network drive that isn’t spinning up fast enough, but log files and more advanced help would be required.
@OttoKerner / @astrofisher are two guys I can think of at the moment to offer that ‘advanced’ help.
Which log files are you wanting to see, I currently do not have logging turned on, but will be happy to provide them. You might be right on the name, its the only series that looks like I have it done that way. I will try renaming them as well. As far as the hard drive, I would assume that its spinning just fine, as all my media are stored on a dedicated media server and all the TV shows are on one disk. But will be happy to supply any logs that you ask for, just let me know which ones. Thanks
If you’re going to play around with the names do this:
The Plex Dance®:
- remove entire series from library - not just the episodes, all of it.
- update library
- clean bundles
- empty trash
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <---- clean bundles, empty trash, update libraries - correct the name - or let FileBot ‘pre-match’ and ‘re-name’ the whole thing in seconds
- replace entire series into library
- update library.
This will do a bunch of things including re-setting that bundle that may be infested with errors and take renaming attempts out of the view of Plex - where those things should be done. Plex doesn’t like letting go of a bundle so we have to slap it around a little.
Ok, I will try that when I get back home, have to run out for a bit. I will let you know what happens.
Please do and if the issue is still present after that the advanced help team will let you know what they want to see.
Tony,
Thank you. That took care of the issue. I normally use theRenamer to handle the name conversion for me, but for some reason it was having issues with that series. But its corrected now and its working. Thanks
