For Movie libraries, plex will create a background itself by default as well as download those available, but PMS doesn’t do this for TV Show libraries. For example, I have a number TV libraries that use xbmcnfotvimporter (for things that are not in the TheTVDB) and in this case a ‘Background’ is not created by plex (although plex does automatically create ‘posters’ for each episode).
This is a problem because the ‘continue watching’ area uses a background image, which is blank for all libraries using xbmcnfotvimporter. Even for libraries using the default ‘TheTVDB’ agent, the background for the show are downloaded, plex doesn’t create one automatically like it does for movies.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Can we not have plex create a background for a show if one if not present for download?

I’m not sure I’m understanding. Which of the images i show here aren’t you getting?
Background art or also know as fan art. Plex creates it itself for movies if none is downloaded. But this is not true for tv shows which relies solely on downloading an image. So unless you create your own, say, when not using thetvdb agent, you get no fanart and thus ‘continue watching’ area will not have an image, it’ll be blank.
I just created so myself to address but thought it’d mention it.
If you use the XBMC importer and augment the existing NFO (I don’t use it), shouldn’t you be able to supply the image (poster) for PMS to use?
I’m way outside my zone here with UI stuff. You might be best to ask in the XBMC NFO thread in channels for the best answer possible… Those folks do a lot of good stuff.
