TV show extras not showing

Hi there, I can’t seem to find posts about this… When you have extras that you extract yourself from a DVD, you can name it “-featurette” or any other name convention and it works right away. It even works with a random video.

But for the TV shows it doesn’t seem to work that way. I have a featurette for a TV show to which I applied the suffix “-featurette” as I do for movie extras but it’s not showing up in Plex. I can place it in the series root folder or a season folder but nothing’s showing, just the episodes.

Does it simply not work or is it supposed to be done differently? I’m using the latest Plex server on Win10.

I see. Is it by design or is it still to be implemented? All the types of extras existing for movies also exist for TV shows, so I’m confused as to why it cannot be set up the same way for TV shows.

AFAIK it is by design. TheTVDB doesn’t allow these types of extras to be added to their database. So it was not considered to be added.

Ok, but when I add my own videos, what does it have to do with The TVDB if it’s just my local assets?

Just put the files in the Specials folder. They won’t match with TVDB, but they’ll show up in Plex. Then if you want to add posters or descriptions you can add them manually.
