Do I put TV Show extras (bloopers, deleted scenes, etc.) in the main TV folder, or in the corresponding Season folder?

 

Example

Option A

  • The Big Bang Theory
    • Season 1
    • Season 2
    • Bloopers
    • Deleted Scenes

Option B

  • The Big Bang Theory
    • Season 1
      • Bloopers 
      • Deleted Scenes
    • Season 2
      • Bloopers
      • Deleted Scenes

TV Series Specials should be placed in a folder named 'Season 0'.  Specials still need to correspond to TVDB naming as per usual.

Ah.  Would be nice if we could get the same functionality for TV Shows as we do for movies.  I would think the same categories would work.

Extras are currently supported for movie libraries, sorry. Maybe in the future!

It’s the future, and the future seems bleak for this request.

The Season 00 or episode 100 workaround is one crappy workaround. Just shows all your content scattered in a mess under one season. All that is needed is a folder for these extras (but not “extras” because that’s an IGNORE catch for PLEX??? why I don’t know); but some named folder (maybe DVD EXTRAS for example) under each SEASON folder for organization sake that you could dump the files in.

Plex would then simply show the contents of that folder under each season in a section underneath and marked/separated off from the actual episodes; maybe with a line or heading saying DVD Extras under the main season episodes. TVDB is totally useless for these things, so you would have to manually edit the metadata, which isn’t hard.

I try to work around this in two ways.

  1. I figure out how for a seasson how many regular episodes are in the TV database that metadata for TV mostly comes frrom. If say big bang has 22 regular episodes in a season and I want have the bloopers for that season with that season. I add the bloopers files as the big bang theory - s01e23 bloopers.mp4. The extra goes with the appropriate season.
  2. I sometime have an extra for an episode as a second episode.

This is what I am doing as well. Using episode numbers that exceed those listed in TVDB. But it just looks like one long page of episodes on the Plex Web app. What I am suggesting is that with an DVD Extras folder maybe it can at least separate out these extras on screen. Visually.

Meaning that all the episodes in one season would be at the top, and all your extras separated down below, kind of like how Extras are shown in the Movies sections of Plex. Wouldn’t even have to be as complex with Behind the Scenes/Interviews/Scenes/Trailers folders of the movie section. Just one folder in each season would create one on screen separation per season. This would be a huge visual boost to practically ignored Videos section of Plex.
