That is not the new build. @ChuckPA was just pointing out that you will see that number change once it’s released. It has not been released just yet.

Hate to be a pain… My great niece and nephew are driving me nuts wanting on my PMS…
Is there a time I can tell them when it will be fixed?
Hours… days… ?
I have to re-add all my libraries and that is going to take a long time.
Will it hurt letting them have access WHILE I am adding everything back?

hmm i would just add everything back now and then refresh the metadata for the whole library when the fix is out.
and if your server is powerful enough (shouldn’t be a problem) then them accessing while it’s refreshing won’t be a big problem.
So, it will “Fix its self”? I hate doing that… All that info is on the SSD and they have a limited lifetime…
There are literally 100’s thousand of files thumbs etc. around 18TB to index needing Re-Added.
It adds up FAST having it Re-Write info to SSD diminishing life on SSD especially with numbers so large being added and removed more than needed.

you do realise how much you actually need to write to a ssd to kill it?: https://www.howtogeek.com/322856/how-long-do-solid-state-drives-really-last/
i mean i have 60 TB of stuff indexed and it isn’t even taking up 100 GB of metadata, meaning i just on my 250 GB ssd used about 0.0001% of what it can write in its lifespan.
Never said I knew, just that, I knew they have a limited life time. It is a new SSD… Maybe 4/mo old. Before reading your link, I am guessing it has a while then because of your smarty pants comment, eh? hehe
Guess I am a bit annoyed… Family is ragging on me because they cannot get on it. Told them to “take a walk, go get some sun on your pasty arses”.

well i mean you can atleast rebuild your movie libraries, the metadata for them isn’t broken. then you can rebuild the tv show ones at a later date/time depending on when the new update is pushed.
Good thinking! Just read the article and good to know. Mine is 128GB PNY… Should be alright a while. :: shrug ::
Is djanddk your username? I’ll send ya an invite when done and we can compare.
I have access to other peep’s PMS… I never watch anything from them, but, use them as a reference on what to get and organizing ideas etc. compare notes kinda thing!

i will be declining your invite, i currently don’t feel any need to compare libraries, i also don’t know if you would have any benefit viewing my libraries as most of them are using danish titles. But i can give you a invite if you feel you need one, if you just wanted to see my library size, then this picture would be a good illustration:
If I may interject about SSD life?
Each manufacturer publishes a TBW value (Total Bytes Written). This is the usable lifespan of the device. You can read it an infinite amount of times but each write goes against that TBW value
As example: Samsung 850 EVO has a 150 TBW. After 150 Terabytes written, it’s nearing EOL and could start failing on write. The new 860 EVO has a 600 TBW value.
Nice!
Sure… I’d not mine poking thru it if you don’t mind that is… I have the same username Master-PC.
I just added a couple 8TB USB 3.0 drives I look forward to filling.
Using Tautulli… Do you ever get Python crashes? Had to restart my box a few times because Python would die on me.
Was thinking of installing NAS but, am not very familiar with it and I have drives all over my network I am using.
One off my USB 3.0 port on my ASUS RT-AC88u router that would need mapped in as well.

i haven’t had any python crashes, atleast not yet.
The new version is out now i think, it’s 5142: Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More
and the metadata for tv shows works again
@ChuckPA Here is the drive I have…
Can ya tell anything about “TBW” from that?

they have the comparison in which they are saying 20GB pr day: https://www.pny.com/File%20Library/Support/PNY%20Products/Resource%20Center/Solid%20State%20Drives/SSD-Comparison-Feature.pdf
if you use it like they expect, then you will within the warranty (3 years) have written 365320=21900 GB
3years life ugh!
3yrs flies by it seems. The older I get, that faster it goes… I am sure it will seem like yesterday to me when it dies and I am Re-Doing it all over again.

Are you using windows? Win7 x64 Pro here… Barebones everything on that PC. Disabled damn near everything services on it as well.
