In the last few weeks (as of say June 15th) I noticed that some TV shows are not being sorted into Seasons on the app/plex/tv or the plex media player. I checked my NAS and they are in their properly coded folders and seasons. I checked the metadata of the files on Plex and they too are properly named. Has this been fixed?
As an aside: Last week an entire weeks worth of recordings were blank on my schedule. Luckily I refreshed the guide and they showed up. I’m still trying to forgive you for a loss of 2 days of recordings earlier in June after an update. Should I be manually refreshing the guide myself? Or should I consider using the HDHomerun app for my recordings?
July 14 Problem solved! For some reason seasons were set to hide under edit/advanced, except now Plex Media Player for PC won’t start. Guess I’ll uninstall and reinstall.
Can you give us an example or screen shot of what you mean. Nothing has changed as far as required naming conventions or scanners/agents for TV that I am aware of.
I have a similar question, and I’m new so I hope this is an alright place to put it. For some reason one TV Show is not being sorted into Seasons. It’s “The Cat in The Hat Knows a Lot about that!” I have it in:
TV/The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! (2010)/Season 01/The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That (2010) - s01e50 - Aye Aye; Trick or Treat.mkv
I’ve tried it with and without the ! in both That! spots and it doesn’t matter.
I tried Fix Match and the two options are “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot about That!” and “The Cat in The Hat Knows a Lot about That! (2010)”…I have it matched to the first but it didn’t help to match to the other.
Themoviedb has it as well so you can use that as well. Not sure why tvdb search is broken for that one. When you do a fix match and click Search Options. Change the agent drop-down to themoviedb.
Otto, it’s three seasons but I figured out the problem, thanks.
BigWheel - That’s a really neat tip! Thanks. I didn’t know I could change the agent from fix match and I didn’t know I could have different agents for shows, I thought it had to be the same across all shows. Lots to learn!
