I guess the question is how we go about removing the old fingerprints, or do I just set it up fresh now?
Let’s go through my test please. It’s a necessary step in diagnosis.
If need be, you and I can make arrangements for some personal 1:1 time.
Your test was complete and successful. ![]()
The log I sent was from the completion of that test. So the next question is where do we go from here.
Is that the only series in that Television series directory ?
Yes. That is it.
How long does it take to add the entire normal TV directory (or one with more content)?
Compare that with the procedure which I outlined previously
- Move Angel out of the main TV gdrive directory
- Scan files (let it finish)
- Empty Trash
- Clean bundles (let that finish too)
- Optimize database (taking extra cleanup step)
- Move Angel back into main TV gdrive directory ?
I just added 3 other series (Doctor Who, Eureka, and Heroes) each series pulled its meta data quite quickly and fully without any problems. So the real question now is how do I fix my original library?
Now let’s swap back to the original library.
- Stop PMS
- Rename "Library to “Library.test”
- Rename “Library.keep” back to “Library”
- Sign out of Plex/web
- Close the tab
- Start PMS
- Come back in and verify original server there
Now, regarding “Angel”,
- Go to gdrive
- make a new directory (to hold stuff)
- Move “Angel”, in its entirety, there.
- For the TV series library section:
a. Have PMS Scan Files, – allow it to finish
b. Empty Trash
c. Clean Bundles – allow this to finish too - Go back to Gdrive and put “Angel” back into proper position.
- Scan files again in the TV section.
Interesting, switch back to the original library, and once again… nothing. Even deleted the section and created a new one and nothing.
I could just recreate everything in a new library, but that will be annoying to do and take a while for it to pull metadata for 1050 movies, 300hrs of music and about 45 different tv series… not to mention I lose historical data associated with the old library.
So since Plex is working but my libraries got corrupted somehow. I have simply just rebuilt everything into a new library. It is taking quite a bit of time for PMS to chug through it, but it is doing it. I have all 1050 movies done, about 30 series done and about half of the music.
