You have TV shows added your your movie library, and probably are not following the correct naming schema.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have added them into a TV Series folder on my NAS. For example Young Sheldon is in a folder called Young Sheldon\Season 5\Young Sheldon - 5x01 - One Bad Night and Chaos of Selfish Desires.
Is this wrong?
If you go to Plex and edit the library, look at the paths for both your movies and TV shows, You will have some overlap.
Not an issue with the files on the NAS, but rather a config issue by defining the same path in both libraries.
In Plex, if I go to TV SHOWS and click the 3 dots and then click MANAGE LIBRARY > EDIT…what am I supposed to change in the settings please?
Go to the folders section and take screenshot of the paths defined for each library. Then post those.
Yep,
So, if you look at your movie Library you have 2 paths defined:
/Volume1/videos/Plex and /Volume1/videos/Plex/Movies
That first path /Volume1/videos/Plex includes both Movies and TV shows (/Volume1/videos/Plex/TV Shows), press the X next to it.
yes, But do that for your MOVIE Library and the /Volume1/videos/Plex path.
Ok I did that now some red garbage cans are showing up on some movies and some tv shows on the home screen??
What is that meaning?
That is because you removed the path for those files, they should disappear shortly or you will need to empty your trash. Those files should now only appear in your TV Library.
Oh dear…you are right they have disappeared but now every single movie i have is showing as recently added… ![]()
That could happen due to the changes we made in the library. We had to remove the path that was originally defined for all the movies, and then updated it to use the correct path. Sometimes Plex can see it as a remove/re-add. That will only happen once and shouldn’t be a big deal.
Ok thanks, the movies I recently added that I want to watch I will add to my watchlist which will become my temporary recently added selection.
I don’t suppose there is a way to manually go through and remove a heap of movies from ‘recently added’ is there?
