Hi,
All the media in my ‘TV Shows’ library is missing (“There are no items in this library”) even though it exists in the NAS at the same structure level as all my other media (which are present and correct, as far as Plex is concerned.)
I have emptied the trash, refreshed all metadata and scanned library files but without success.
I’m confused on this part. Do you mean you have tv shows in the same folder as movies? You should separate movies and shows into different folders and each library type should point to the appropriate folder.
Let me clarify - no there are three libraries (Films, Home Videos and TV Shows, plus another for music) and the live in 3 folders (Movies/Other Videos/TV Shows) in the main folder called Media at the top level of my Synology NAS. So no, the TV shows are separate from the movies & other videos.
I wasn’t sure if the Plex library names need to exactly copy the names of my NAS folders. Is there a way to check what each folder is pointing to? The TV shows were previously showing up fine.
Thank you, yes I should have thought of a screenshot.
I have attached a picture (the preview is distorted but clicking it opens it fine) of the contents of the NAS and my Plex libraries. As it stands, all the Films, Photos and Music are fine as far as Plex is concerned.
This going to sound strange but I do not remember having created the folder called ‘Media’ or moving my content into it! Nonetheless, as I’ve said some of the content is found by Plex, no problem. 'TV Shows is ignored or not seen.
Plex doesn’t pick up its media just by matching a folder name. Each library should have 1 or more folders connected to it.
You usually assign those during setup or when newly creating a library.
However you can also check it out and change it later (check out this support article on how it’s done).
When you look at your library configuration… are those media folders from your Synology Diskstation actually linked to your Plex libraries?
