I’ve recently noticed that all of my TV shows have suddenly started appearing as above in the title. They used to just be , the way I liked it. I haven’t changed the naming scheme, I haven’t changed any settings in PMS and I can’t even find a setting that will let me fiddle with that… I’m at a loss.
They appear where? Which app? Which view mode?
Are you using folder view perhaps?
Do note that (showname) - sxxexx - (episodename)
is the Plex format for tv shows.
All your episode should adhere to this naming format. Simply to avoid problem with the matching of tv shows and episodes.
If the name format of your actual media files differs from the above, Plex’s folder view might translate what it recognized into the recommended name format anyway.
Do note that this is only for display in Plex. Your files are not touched by Plex.
I know this is an old thread but i wanted to share my experience on this.
If you have been using DroidTv for a while, for some reason the title in the tag of the files are now set to (showname) - sxxexx.mp4 and not the episode name.
This will set the episode name in Plex as (showname) - sxxexx.mp4.
You have to change the tag in the mp4 to correct this.
That being said, after i change the tag, the name in Plex or the episode are not updated and i can’t figure out why.

Don’t forget if your files are mp4 and have the title tag populated, pms will override the episode name with this tag.
Yep, that was the issue. Found out you can right-click a bunch of files → Properties → Details Tab → Remove Properties and Personal Information (down the bottom of the window) → Check ‘Title’ to override/clear all the titles
