TV Shows Watched/Played Broken on Android After 8.22

Server Version#: 1.32.0.6973
Player Version#: 8.23 and newer

I’ve been having a problem for years that any Android player version newer than 8.22 has a problem with the Watched/Played status from my server. On the Library page, the correct number of unwatched episodes is displayed. If I go into a show, all of the episodes are marked as unwatched. If I manually try to mark a show as watched, the page refreshes and the episode is still marked as unwatched. Movies don’t have this issue. I can mark those as watched or unwatched without a problem.

I enabled advanced debugging and then watched the console. When I try to mark a TV show as watched, one item is highlighted:

[Req#30ff] QueryParser: Invalid field ‘libraryHubsOnly’ found, ignoring.

This line does not occur when marking a movie as watched or unwatched, but I couldn’t find any information about this error to determine if it is actually related.

I did some testing and removed both of the following files:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases\com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases\com.plexapp.plugins.library.db

Then I restarted the server and rebuilt a TV shows library. The problem still occurred. Is there somewhere else that Plex Media Server stores the watched status? I figured removing the database files would clear out any corrupt data causing this problem.

The problem does not occur on the web player Plex Media Server ships with. I don’t know if it occurs on the iOS or Roku clients. I don’t have those to test with.

No response? The question of “where is the watch data stored?” should be something Plex tech staff can answer.
