I have an odd issue where a single episode is not getting flagged as watched no matter how many times I toggle it to do so. What I’ve tried:
I have tried to toggle the status from multiple client devices and yet the episode thinks it is unwatched and shows as such from multiple client devices and on the servers webui.
I tried to do the plex dance with the episode in question. (renamed episode to test, scanned library, emptied trash, cleaned bundles, optimized db, renamed back to original name, scanned library again.)
Tried marking the entire season as watched
Tried marking the entire series as watched
One interesting detail is this seems to be specific to my account, my son’s account, which is his own plex account that I have invited to my home group, is able to flag the same episode as watched no problem at all.
The episode in question is still open in perpetual Pause mode on some Plex client that’s using your user account.
Look for forgotten web browser tabs, or rarely used player devices.
To close a video completely in the web player, you need to press the stop button. Merely pausing or minimizing the player window is not sufficient.
Wouldn’t that mean I would also see this under the activity page? Currently, I do not have anything playing as far as the Activity page is concerned and I also just stopped the service and updated to the public release 1.32.5.7328 and the issue persists. I have checked every device I own, rebooted every last device and none are watching this video or even have plex open for that matter.
Just to be sure what I’m saying is clear is when I try to mark this single episode as watched, it just not keep, it immediately comes back and not watched, with the gold triangle in the top right.
I’m leaning more to the database issue being the real issue. I’ve tried the usual DB Optimize and have the same issue. Any ideas on what in the DB could be causing it? I’m comfortable working with DB files, but not sure on how Plex queries the watch status.
I’m going to make a new backup and poke around a bit.
