Seems to me like a simple
IF (CHANNEL IS ALREADY TUNED) { DONT INCREMENT THE TUNER COUNTER } else { TUNER_IN_USE ++ }
36 seconds of code ? This MIGHT!! be impacting remote viewing from some of the remote errors i have been seeing on roku ? hard to tell from the roku feedback.
Based on my own experience, I don’t think it’s likely. I just performed a test where I viewed the same channel in five different clients (this is on an HDHomeRun Flex 4K 4-tuner device). While after the fourth client started viewing the tuner status in Plex showed four tuners in use, I was able to start viewing the same channel from the fifth client (a Roku Premiere) with no issues. The HDHomeRun’s tuner status page confirmed the same: A single tuner was in use.
While it has been reported before, and should definitely be fixed, based on what I’ve seen this is a cosmetic problem only.
If your experience is different, you may need to provide server logs from the timeframe where the tuning issue was experience. The problematic case could certainly be more complicated than I tested above but I went with the simplest test possible to establish a baseline.
Many Thanks !! I did the same test and had three channels streaming six views… works as intended (except the cosmetic indicator). Thank God the GPU absorbs the brunt ! My remote view issue must be some other [roku] problem.
