The TVDB site has been updated to v2 and I’m assuming the API is now v2 as well? Has the Plex metadata agent been updated? I can’t seem to load new posters and fanart that have been uploaded since the switch to v2.
Example - https://www.thetvdb.com/series/lost-kingdoms-of-africa
The API was not changed, AFAIK. It is completely separate from the website.
Newly added stuff takes a few days until it is available per API.
If you need some stuff urgently, you can try to clear out Plex’s local agent cache.

Thanks for the response, I’ll try again in a few days.
I’m not getting metadata from TheTVDB.com, it worked this morning not this evening.

They are having problems the last i checked… It’s probably gonna be a bumpy ride for a few weeks.
It’s been a week and new fanart/posters I uploaded still don’t load even after clearing the cache. Can I check if it’s an issue with the TVDB API or with Plex itself? Hope someone in the know can provide some clarification. Thanks!

I almost had to wait 2 weeks after I uploaded posters/episode screen shots.
What show was it anyway?

Lost Kingdoms of Africa (Lost Kingdoms of Africa - TheTVDB.com)
OK if it’s 2 weeks then I’ll wait it out for a week more and see how it goes. If so, that’s probably an API issue I guess.

I see you upped 1x fanart, 1x series poster, and 2x season posters.
PLEX takes a while for the site to be cached/proxy-ed/or whatever is does to themoviedb/thetvdb, lol.
Here is the post I had similar issues with artwork/posters.

Previously, TVDB fanart/posters would refresh almost immediately if I cleared the cache folder and TMDB would take maybe 24 hours or longer. Sadly now TVDB metadata doesn’t refresh even after clearing the cache after they updated to v2.

Just fyi: the site changed to v2, the API didn’t change.
Just a question for ‘the Plex Team’ do you guys talk or communiate pretty regularly or is Plex just utilizing the database from TVDB. Just started to wonder after moving a bunch of tv shows from one diretory to another and then no magic ie posters metadata. I’m just guessing but since Plex has became even more popular that the TVDB see alot of their traffic being Plex Servers and I guess two part question wouldn’t it benefit Plex and its users (maybe only for plexpass, I obviously don’t make decisions but it would be definately a + in my book) if Plex had a cache of the database for times like this where I have gotten this for the past 3 days
{
“Error”: “Not authorized”
}
coming from the api request from - https://api.thetvdb.com clearly a prob on their end somewhere.
Not to meantion that there must be a pretty decent crews of database/api/ect pros somewhere in the campus. TVDB has built by far the best database of its kind but my thoughs are and before i write it down I know I know… This Guy… But if you are looking to idk maybe help them out on a at very least a backup cache of their site which until recently never put much thought into how my library "pretties’ itself up so nice with… metadata from… TVDB usually but not for a few days.
Anyway miss my posters and metadata - couldn’t find much on TVDB forum but I didn’t dig very far.

Just to say that you’re likely seeing this error as you’re not passing any authentication details with the URL. That’s the API’s correct response - you’re not authorized, as you’re not passing any authorization details. I take this to mean that the API is up and running.
If the API was down (which it was earlier today - which is how I ended up here), you get a “503 Service not available” error. Once it went back to “Not authorized”, I was able to refresh metadata.
Does seem to be down quite a lot, which is annoying.
I’m getting API errors like this:
2018-06-03 17:39:26,101 (3145c) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting ‘https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/329175/episodes?page=1’

So none of my TV shows are getting episode data.
edit: I also seem to have the “Not Authorized” error.
Guess we maybe need a API key for v2 from now on.
