TVDB down again? No metadata for tv shows since yesterday morning?

Anyoneelse having problems to get new metadata for their tv shows? It appears it doesn’t work since yesterday morning (28 hours ago in my time zone). It looks like https://tvdb2.plex.tv/ is down?

Yeah my metadata isn’t working either

Thought it was me - was literally just looking for an answer on this

Please check again?

I am east coast USA and have tvdb2.plex.tv responding.

If it does not respond, please let me know your region/country and I will notify the operations team

I get the following error if i click the link in the first post

{“Error”:“Not authorized”}

UK region

That’s the correct response. tvdb2.plex.tv is not open to the public. It requires your server’s authentication

Ah ok - so can’t test it that way. Definitely not getting Metadata though

If the media was renamed to correct bad naming after PMS initially scanned it, perform the Plex Dance first.
If this doesn’t correct the issue (which it does in almost all cases), we’ll clear the cache

  1. Stop PMS
  2. Under Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Caches, clear that all out
  3. Start PMS
  4. Force the refresh of the metadata

Actually, just refreshed Lucifer and it’s pulled metadata… so might be resolved whatever the error was. I had Lucifer, Supergirl, Elementary, iZombie, all with no metadata this week

Done the Plex dance enough, so I know everything is formatted correctly (learnt the lessons the hard way)… this doesn’t appear to be that situation this time. Definitely looks like an outage

I looked and didn’t see one reported but it is always possible.
Being in the UK puts you in-country with your closest metadata server

Please keep an eye on it and reach out if there is an undetected outage. I’ll find out why it wasn’t detected

BTW to get it working again, I’m having to refresh metadata for the entire show. Trying to refresh the episode itself goes straight to Finished Processing in the status log but doesn’t seem to do anything. Fixed Lucifer, Supergirl and iZombie by refreshing the show itself

Same here (The Netherlands), no metadata for new added shows since yesterday (give or take). Just tried to refresh two recently added episodes (around the 16:18 / 16:19 mark), saw the below errors. Logs attached (removed some older files to cut down on the filesize).

Looks like it‘s working now for me…previously i got error 503 by the way

Thanks for providing the 503 info… I can pass that to operations.

@ChuckPA ; judging from some of the other related topics, could it be that I just have to clear some caches? Sounds like some files got corruped/borked for whatever reason.

There was a bonafied outage on Tuesday. This could be the outfall from that. Without going through the logs since Tuesday, I can’t tell definitively but knowing it did go out tuesday, this is not unreasonable

ah, those logs have been rotated out already. Will clear the cache folders and see what happens

@ChuckPA ; Can I just delete everything in:
/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache
/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Caches

(will stop PMS first ofcourse)

As instructed above

/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Caches

These are where the metadata agents reside… If you look at the directory listing of it, you’ll see every agent by formal name
