Tvshows missing episodes suddenly : s01e01 is recognized but S01E01 not anymore since recent update

I have a TV show with 3 seasons.
season 1 and 2 are complete, season 3 is running.
a few days back Plex server had an update which I installed; all ok.
Yesterday a new episode was added to season 3. the general naming was ‘someshow.S03E0x.somestuff.mkv’, except for one episode, which was in ‘someshow.s03e0x.somestuff.mkv’. Now only that one show was listed.

Moving the entire show to a different location, doing the database scan, delete trash, optimize database, delete bundles; moving it back and triggering a sync resulted in losing most episodes, only showing the ones without the capital lettering for s0xe0y.

edit: so after renaming all episodes to the small letter format, all of them were found again by the scanner.

Thanks @JaysPlex for taking time to respond to this ticket and the suggestion to update to the beta stream.

Having had some bad experiences with Beta releases in the past, I am holding out for now and hope for the Plex team to release a mainstream version in the very near future to remedy this stupid bug. In the meanwhile I will resort to renaming whatever is not popping up in Plex :wink:

Check out PowerRename in Microsoft Power Toys.

It will make short order of replacing S01E with s01e.

It searches an entire directory structure, so you can start with the folder added to the Plex library instead of individual show folders.

Example: Replacing s01e with S01E (the opposite of what you want, but the files are already using lower case).
