Ubuntu Plex update erased descriptions

I just update my plex server on ubuntu and all my descriptions disappeared, everything else is there (name, poster, tag, cast) i tried to select between The Movie Database and Plex Movie and nothing. So, i spent the day doing it manually for movies and tv shows. And my question is what folder or file do i need to save, so if this happens again i could just copy and paste that?

Did you download and install from Plex.tv/downloads or from the Ubuntu app store?

(There’s unfortunately a big difference)

That aside, your DEBUG log files (troubleshooting - Download Logs) might still have some info about what happened to cause it)

I downloaded as a .deb pack from the website. But i already did all manually, just wanna know what file to save so i don’t have to do it again.

Ok… thanks. Apologies for misunderstanding.

Absolute best way:

  1. Stop Plex
  2. cd /var/lib/plexmediaserver
  3. sudo tar cf /path/to/someplace/safe/PlexBackup.tar ./Library

Now you have a perfect image of the server.
