I have followed the instructions outlined here: http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_linux.html#plex
I have done this on both Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04. I have Plex Pass. Once everything is installed, I go to set up the DVR and no device is listed.
The Plex Tuner Service.log is listed at the bottom. I don’t know what else to do. I started out trying this in a virtual environment and passing the device through to the VM, but that was unsuccessful and I figured that it being a VM was the reason for the failure. I then installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu on a standard PC installed all updates, installed PMS, followed the instructions listed on the web page above including adding the plex user to the video group.
I have also download the firmware file from linuxtv.org and placed it in the lib/firmware folder.
Nothing seems to work. I don’t know what I’m missing.
Linux lists the device when I execute lspci -v. The results of that are listed below the log. I do see that one of the items does not show a Kernel driver in use. I’m at a loss as to what else I need to do to get this working.
I tried it in Windows just to confirm if the tuner was functional and Plex does see the tuner when installed in Windows.
If someone can help, I’d greatly appreciate it.
