UGH - Plex Managed User Issue

I’ve been a Plex user since forever but ran into an issue today I cannot seem to resolve.

iI did a fresh install of Plex Media Server recently on my NUC PC without issue; my admin acct and media are all visible.

I went to add my wife as a managed user (which worked just fine), but somehow managed to also add her as an “unmanaged account”. So when I “Switch User”, I see 2 entries for her, omce as a managed user and then again with her email address. So, TWO entires for her.

I know her Plex login details; I attempted to login as her and delete her account, but it seems to persist.

Question: What’s the correct approach to delete that "other "account, but retain her managed account?

PS> now I am tangled up in an email/acct issue for her - I now cannot login, cannot reset password.

- Thx

So you have a “Managed” account (uses your login) for her, and an un-managed account (uses it’s own login email/password). If both show up on the account select screen, then likely you created a separate account and invited it into your home. Accounts invited to your home almost act just like managed accounts, in that you can log in as ANY email used by any of the accounts, and quick swap to any of the other accounts.

Check https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/plex-home to see if your wife’s un-managed account shows up here. It should be the only one without the word “Managed Account” on the list. Point at the account you want to remove, and there should be an “X” that appears on the right end of the row. Click that.

If that is all you want, just let the account rot for all you care. If you wish to delete it (just to clean up), then I suppose you will need to resolve the login issues, then attempt to delete the account.
